Punta Mita is located in the beautiful state of Nayarit, 25 miles Northwest of Puerto Vallarta, about 35-40 minutes drive from the airport. Unique in location, quality, and space. Playa Punta De Mita, arguably the nicest beach in the area is the last beach on the protected side of the Punta De Mita peninsula. Family friendly azure swimming water is clear to the sandy bottom. Great for boogey boarding, body surfing, swimming or fishing. There are also a number of excellent surfing spots in the area, several of them within walking distance. Also, within walking distance there are a number of excellent restaurants on the beach. Enjoy a Margarita or cold beer as you watch the sunset over the Marietas Islands. There are also a number of grocery stores in the town. Fresh fruit and vegetables are available at most of the stores. Produce grown in the area includes bananas, coconuts, sugarcane, pineapple, limes, oranges, grapefruit, mangos, and avocados. Purified drinking water is available everywhere. Every morning the fishermen sell fresh fish at the little market at the harbor. Choose from Dorado (Mahi Mahi) Huachinango (Red Snapper) or whatever they recommend. It is very inexpensive, and for a few dollars you can cook or use the large gas operated BBQ next to the pool and create some amazing meals.
